IDENTITY 4

A famous writer once said, I seem to remember, that if a young person came to him and said,” I want to be a writer, can you help me ?”, he would get rid of them. But, if they said “I want to write.” , he gave them more than the time of day. Action is more real than being? Is that what this implies?

But when I was a father, it was the best feeling of my life. Does that make it selfish? To create kids in order to have an identity? Or maybe there are different levels of authenticity in identity? At the deepest or highest level of authenticity, identity and action and essence become one?

Obviously, for many identities, competence in specific types of action is necessary. A carpenter must be able to build things in wood, etc. But others not, as in a son or a daughter or sister or brother, father mother, no matter what they do. And in my case I know I owe them loyalty and caritas (care). And also those who become virtual brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, etc.

Many of those closest to me feel little loyalty to their blood family, but deep loyalty to their virtual family.

Under the shadow of eternity that dissolves all certainties of form that I depend on here - the smile of acceptance, the physical beauty of ordinary, often ugly, people, touched suddenly and without warning by an angel - I do know what to do.

Since giving up my job and identity as a lecturer, so difficult to talk honestly and seriously with anyone. What is worse is if they have not seen through the extreme propaganda of the panic-demics promoted by the power-elite institutions released on us since 2020. So much worse than anything in my memory. Just as most sensitive intelligent decent people fell for the propaganda that the world wars were Just Wars against the evil Germans, etc. so did they let the propaganda machines persuade them to suffer and accept the murderous pofiteering that pretended to be a new saviour medicine for the masses threatened by the worst existential crisis since WWII.

How an I say to them that not only have they put themselves in real jeopardy, but by accepting this propaganda, they have unwittingly collude with what is virtually a massacre of the innocents, so many young children and young adults crippled or killed. So many.
